The Effect of Continuing Education on the Outcome of ventilator- associated pneumonia

Introduction: The high prevalence of ventilator- associated pneumonia among hospital infections requires attention to standard preventive measures in the long run so that the contribution of the standardized and standardized programs to the reduction of the prevalence of this infection is carefully investigated. Therefore, the present study aims to determine The effect of continuous airway care on the frequency of ventilator-dependent pneumonia was evaluated ventilator- associated pneumonia. Materials and Methods: This clinical trial study was conducted for 6 months in 1397 with 70 participants randomly divided into four groups of 35 individuals. Patients in the intervention group received airway care standards that were received by trained nurses based on the Pulmonary Infection Control checklist, which had acceptable and reliable validity, and patients in the control group received routine measures. The data were analyzed by SPSS 21 software using independent t-test and chi-square and chi-square test. P was less than 0.05 meaningful. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between the control group and the intervention group (P>0.05). However, the post-test results indicated that the scores of Pulmonary Infection Scale in all groups in both groups (The control group was more likely to increase), so that the comparison of the results between the two groups was statistically significant (P=0.001). Conclusion: Continuing education in airway standards reduces the incidence of ventilator- Associated pneumonia.
